Ashtanga or Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is one of the most dynamic styles of yoga, it is a style that has countless practitioners especially in the western world also because some famous artists such as Sting and Madonna have been widely publicized as practicing this style. The advertising that they have inadvertently produced made it inevitable that it would become very popular.

But this style of yoga was driven in the West and originally introduced by Master Sri. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India, and even today at 90 years of age he continues to provide intensive lectures and seminars around the world.

Ashtanga is a style for which you must already be in a good physical shape and above all not have physical injuries or health problems that may worsen with intensive exercise. Since this is a strenuous style both physically and mentally to practice.

Level I. to practice the full range of ansanas requires quite some time since advancing to the principle of a single Asan can only happen when the practitioner is physically ready and not before.

This basic class consists of the following sequence:

  • Surya namaskar A and B
  • Stances standing
  • Stances seated
  • Stances end

Level II and III are for practitioners with many years and with their physical potential has reached a very advanced stage.
